Roid Roger Clemens

Pathetic display by Roger Clemens on 60 minutes. He continues to “lawyer up”, and seems to not answer any real questions. Now an even more pathetic display.

Even more pathetic is Clemen’s attorney on ESPN doing damage control. He keeps saying he is not accusing anyone, then says this person has impeccable credentials, that person has awesome cred. He leaves out the accuser. Hmm.

They are playing a tape made by Roger Clemens, on the phone with Brian McNamee. This is pathetic. Is he now colluding with others to clear his name? Did he stage this call? If not did he alert the caller to the recording? I believe that is required in Texas. [update: Clemens did not tell McNamee that he was being taped]

I am not sure who is more pathetic; Clemens of McNamee. It’s clear that McNamee wants to be “friends” with Clemens, part of the “in crowd”. On the other hand why is Clemens associated with this clown?

What really galls me is the whiney attitude of Clemens.

“I’m angry that what I’ve done for the game of baseball … I don’t get the benefit of the doubt,” he said. from 60 Minutes

Dude, you took a week to respond! Why the hell should we believe you when you “lawyered up”?

Clemens does not even attend Cliff Gustafson’s son’s funeral to put on a press conference. Are you kidding me? For someone who is claiming this is about his health, he seems to be damned concerned about his name, and rep.

What is more disturbing is that they are saying they are going public with the tape because it was “leaked to Newsday by someone on McNamee’s side”. Why did you tape this, in the first place?

I have lost faith in Roger Clemens. It’s clear he is desperate to clear his name. It’s too little, too late, and too contrived.

How can you use someone who’s kid is dying, like this? Only if you are a self-absorbed ego-maniac.
