Toyota gets NASCAR win

Kyle Busch celebrates his victory in Kobalt 500

Oh boy I can hear the moans now. A non-American car won? Oh the end is near. Not really a surprise, since NASCAR has done everything it can to get rid of the ‘good ol boys’. First they hired that metrosexual to run the show, and he came up with that idiotic “playoff”. Second they seem to be hell-bent on eliminating any team that is owner-operated. Third, they appear to favor the ‘pretty boys’ over real men. And now a candy-bar car wins and it’s a *gasp* Toyota Camry! Hello!

a little M&M in everyone

I can see the advertisement now. A little M&M guy driving a chocolate Toyota Camry to victory on a candy can race track. Yes the M&M car won. Unfortunately they were running under the Snickers colors.

Some out there are saying: “what the hell is he talking about”? This:

nascar18

Yes that is a NASCAR car. Specifically Kyle Busch’s Snickers sponsored #18 car. Snickers is part of the M&M Mars family of fine treats and Dentist full-employment program.

No doubt the Food-PC-Police will be all over this one. They have all but driven out alcohol from racing. It’s time to get rid of those evil sugary snacks! Even M&M Mars is helping in the food revolution.

It’s even better that the resident pretty-boys — Jimmie ‘i cheat to win’ Johnson, and Jeff ‘metrosexual’ Gordon — were punk’d and badly at that by a candy-bar car. Even better the Roush bunch were black-flagged after their engine blew — that’s what happens when you cheat — and they were out of the race.

White has been the center of controversy since Thursday, when he said Roush Fenway Racing knowingly fixed the oil tank lid to come off Carl Edwards’ winning Ford last weekend at Las Vegas.

That began an exchange with owner Jack Roush that escalated into an all-out war of words when Roush insinuated that Michael Waltrip wasn’t the only Toyota team that illegally used “rocket fuel” last year at the Daytona 500.

*rotflmao* I may have to actually start watching NASCAR, now.

Konichiwa Checkered Flag. Now we get to hear about the Japanese invasion of America. I am ok with that, as long as they eat Snickers and M&Ms. Maybe now we can get some Chocolate covered rice crackers, Wabash M&Ms; now that’s foreign relations.

Do they have ‘rednecks’ in Japan? May have to take a field trip and report on this. In the name of Science of course.

as the wheel turns

And one more week of Stewart whining about the tires.

Second-place Tony Stewart, Busch’s teammate, went so far as to say Goodyear should pull out of the sport and let Hoosier or Firestone build tires if Goodyear can’t do better.

Yes, he came in second; driving the same tires everyone else was using.

At one point Jeff Gordon asked crew chief Steve Letarte how many laps remained. When Letarte said 124, Gordon responded, “We’re going to have to shorten this race if we’re going to have cars like this.”

Afterward, he added, “I felt like I was going to crash every single lap. I’m exhausted right now. I feel like I’ve run a thousand miles here. There is just no reason for this. This car, this tire, at this racetrack was just terrible.”

Suprised Stewart didn’t recommend Yokohama tires. You see he also drives a Toyota Camry.

The tires worked to Busch’s advantage. His ability to handle a loose car as well as anybody on the planet enabled him to pull away from everybody except Edwards.

Seems the better driver won. Ha!

no we love Goodyear

Sounds like lots of sour grapes to me.

“That’s where Kyle’s talent comes in,” Stewart said.

That shouldn’t be lost in the controversy between White and Roush and the ensuing war against Goodyear. Busch may very well be the most talented driver in the garage — as many have said he could be once he matured and backed off what has been called an overaggressive style.

Oh and in case you missed it, there were snow flurries in Atlanta forcing cancellation of the Qualifying. How do you build a race tire for that?

Interesting that only the losers are upset about the tires.
