German Soccer Team won’t use fan’s choice of Jersey because it has a “cross” on it. Seems clear that not offending Muslims is more important than not offending Christians in Germany. Also seems clear that Political Correctness has run amok in Germany.
The offending jersey:

Oh yes, just offensive as all get out. Unreal.
What they chose:

I like the style of the jersey, however if you let the fans choose, then you should stick with their choice. Stupid decision, and will only hurt their team.
why is this happening
The reason for the team not going with their fans’ choice? A Turkish lawyer has sought to have a win by team Inter because of a design that is reminiscent of the Knights Templer cross. Oh, and his team was the loser in that match.
After a close examination, we have decided that the winning jersey with the cross unfortunately cannot be used because the symbol on the front has a religious background. Inter Milan, an Italian club with a long tradition, has appeared in the current Champions League competition in a similar jersey and been strongly criticised for it. So after careful consideration, Eintracht Frankfurt has gone back and chosen the second jersey, which came in a close second in the vote.
Here is “offending shirt:

Even more disgusting the weak links at the team have decided to NOT wear the shirt anymore. What’s next, banning the English flag? or how about all of these:

This is ridiculous. Are Islamic/Muslim teams going to remove all religious symbolism from their team gear? Yea, right, sure they will.
The fan forum for Eintracht is on fire (German).
