Niki Lauda is singing the praises of Lewis Hamilton. You have to wonder if he is a just another in a long line of band-wagon hopping nuts. Some are questioning if Hamilton is getting a big head due to back-to-back wins.
July 21st, 2008 — Auto Racing
The worst part of this is that the most current broo-ha-ha was on a practice day! Danica confronts Milka Duno. Danica Patrick is going to kill IRL, or have a short lived career; let’s hope the later.
Her ‘all about me’ attitude is no doubt driving away others from the sport that is already languishing. In a desperate attempt to build some viewership the IRL has taken to using Danica’s antics as a replacement for real racing.
June 22nd, 2008 — Auto Racing, obits
NHRA driver Scott Kalitta died on Saturday in crash during a funny car race. Scott was son of funny car superstar Connie Kalitta.

The Indy 500 is over, and there are some conclusions we can make. In general these apply to most sporting events, but racing seems to be suffering the most.
1. Eye Candy belongs on the sideline in skimpy bikinis or lingerie. They do not belong anywhere with a microphone pretending to be reporters. Anyone else tired of bimbos with microphones? I am.
2. The booth announcers are idiots.
“Danica with the fire that burns within her. The fire that burns deep inside of her.”
That idiotic comment was made after the ‘eye candy’ “interviewed” overexposed Danica Patrick.
Danica was ambushed while walking to somewhere, and made the comment that it was a good thing she was held back from ‘talking’ to a driver who she had a grievance with.
Ooooo I am so scared that Danica Patrick is gonna get all up in my grill. Pathetic.
3. Networks are clueless about “entertainment” or sports. The constant push to put women in positions of being announcers and interviewers because of their liberal “conscience” (read guilt), is ruining sporting events (among other things). This is an extension of the “doing good” mentality, which is them trying to fix us; since they believe we are broken.
I am so sick of no-nothing, airhead, bimbos, who are looking to move on anyway to a “film career” working as “reporters.” They don’t even take the time to get the basics of the sport they are covering memorized. Asshats.
4. Brent Musburger is a jackass, no-talent, overpaid clown. His desperate attempts to interject “drama” into the wrap up are more pathetic than his commentary during the race. Granted he is worse when covering football, however that does not make me feel any better.
Maybe we have too many broadcasts, period? Or is it that the lack of talent is more noticeable now that we have so many shows? Maybe it’s the lack of quality due to the liberal guilt promotions of un/under-qualified women into positions in front (and maybe behind) the camera that are causing thins issue.
Whatever the reason, watching sports these days is painful.

Kyle Busch celebrates his victory in Kobalt 500
Oh boy I can hear the moans now. A non-American car won? Oh the end is near. Not really a surprise, since NASCAR has done everything it can to get rid of the ‘good ol boys’. First they hired that metrosexual to run the show, and he came up with that idiotic “playoff”. Second they seem to be hell-bent on eliminating any team that is owner-operated. Third, they appear to favor the ‘pretty boys’ over real men. And now a candy-bar car wins and it’s a *gasp* Toyota Camry! Hello!

F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone plays down the “Hamilton abuse”
And he said an anti-racism campaign launched by governing body the FIA was “not necessary”.
“All it does is give attention to people who want attention,” he said.

The 50th running of the Daytona 500 is this weekend . So I have decided to run some links about the storied race, so you my faithful reader can glean some insight into the race and it’s history. If you are not familiar with NASCAR, you can bone up here.
February 9th, 2008 — Auto Racing
NASCAR starts today. Daytona being the first stop. Daytona begins qualifying today for the 50th running of the Daytona 500. Today they are having something called a shoot-out.
They have not even started the race and the kids are already fighting. Busch and Stewart got into on Friday night, no doubt they wanted to make good on the promise of the NASCAR chairman for more emotion.
Open-wheel racing is having issues, and a merger may be too little and too late. Even the Canadians are doing NASCAR. Jacques Villeneuve is moving to NASCAR and taking a big risk. Yea, of getting beat up over his name.
Toyotas are kicking ass again this year, and some want rule changes. I say, make a better car. What bunch of cry babies. This is NASCAR for cripes sake. However it is a bit sickening to have your awards banquet at the Waldorf-Astoria in NYC. WTF? Why not the Greenbriar Resort in West Virginia? Not good enough for you?
Oh yea, NASCAR has a “king”; great.
The one good thing going is the punch count in the Busch Stew art frackus. These two spent much of last season on probation. Hopefully they won’t start whining about ’sucker punches’.
Maybe some day NASCAR will get away from this idiotic system they have and go back to the old NASCAR which is better. This is what happens when you let metrosexual ad execs makes decisions about a man’s sport. Think about it, if a mama’s boy like Jeff Gordon or Jimmie Johnson can win the Cup; is it really a sport?

A caravan of cars, trucks and motorcycles — including an ambulance, an ice cream truck and a Hummer — left Budapest on Saturday hoping to arrive in Bamako, Mali, on Jan. 27. It’s a journey of some 5,400 miles through eight countries.
