It seems to me that the service academies have lowered their entrance requirements. Last year in the bowl game that featured the Naval Academy the QB (I believe), spoke like he was living in the ghetto instead of about to graduate from one of the best engineering schools in the country.
Now we have an West Point graduate who upon hearing he will have to serve out his contract says:
Campbell said he “didn’t ask for it, but you should never have gave it to me if it wasn’t going to happen
“you should have never gave” … how is this idiot graduating from West Point. Are we that desperate for soldiers that we allow illiterates into the academy?

Brett Favre is rumored to retire today after 17 years of playing pro football. Now the question is, will he stay retired?
Quite frankly nothing in his past indicates this is permanent. He reminds me of Roger Clemens, just without the steroids, so far. I just don’t believe he can walk away just yet. It also strikes me as a bit selfish that he kept stringing along the fans and player of the Green Bay Packers and then ‘boom’!

Belichick slinks off early, and proves — as if anyone doubted that he is a classless loser.
Wallace Matthews of Newsday says Belichick has no class.
The game wasn’t over yet and the players knew it, the officials knew it and the fans knew it.
All Bill Belichick knew was that it was over as far as he was concerned.
And so he took the walk that true losers take, the walk of shame, off the field and up the tunnel and out of any claim he once may have had to a sense of dignity or honor or sportsmanship. You know he didn’t walk out of any stadium before the final gun of any of those 18 wins, but now he couldn’t wait to run away from his only loss.
I agree. The entire Patriot team save a few, is classless.
Hey Bill, show some class; download the NYG Super Bowl Screensaver.

The game is so important that the NFL took time off from attacking Churches to design a special logo for the event.

Hmm … well it’s a logo. Is the number supposed to be a stadium outline? I thought Tampa Bay had a boat on the end of the stadium. Then again why would the stadium be on on the turf? Oh I get it. The NFL is showing it’s dominance over the game, and by extension us. Got it. [that's sarcasm, folks]

Football Physics: Anatomy of a hit
Popular mechanics has an interesting article on what happens during a hit in football.
This graphic explains the short playing careers of most players.

As anyone who has played will tell you, it’s the turf that is the worst. Hitting another player is nothing compared to hitting the concrete floor of the old “Astor Turf”, and that is pleasant compared to hitting frozen tundra (think of a skating rink).
However the most damage is done by hits to the knee.
While Trufant and Lewis generally have enjoyed healthy careers, they (and other players) face the same nemesis: the dreaded knee injury. The knee’s anterior cruciate ligament can withstand nearly 500 pounds of pressure, but it tears far more easily from side hits and evasive maneuvers. According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, more than 1200 knee injuries were reported by the league between 2000 and 2003, accounting for one out of every six injuries — by far the highest percentage in the NFL.
It does hurt and is not fun.

Oh come on, you know you want to do it! You know you will be chowing down on the round meal.
Dominos Pizza will have the “pizza tracker” at your disposal. No worries that your pizza has gone wayward, now you can check on it and it’s progress. However the “Pizza Tracker” will not follow the pizza once it exits the door into your friendly pizza dude’s vehicle. No doubt they are working on GPS tracking as we speak.
Even better, you can now abuse the people who are servicing your order.
Anyone who isn’t satisfied with the speed of their order can complain through a rating system, which provides names of workers who take their orders and deliver the pie.
Great! Web 2.0 is so helpful.
Alert! Alert! Useless implementation of Web 2.0 Technology in progress. Alert!
What implementation is NOTuseless.
First off — and I’m trying really hard not to be cruel here — does anyone still order Dominos pizza anymore?
Yah brah, they still do. If this guy is this out of touch on pizza; how do you trust him on anything business/tech related.
Last year, Dominos implemented pizza ordering via text messaging in the U.K. — again, a strange implementation of tech. Wouldn’t dialing the pizza joint be a lot faster than punching in the order on your BlackBerry?
See what I mean. Last time I checked I can’t store an audio message and send it to Dominos to place an order. If this is what passes for journalists today, no wonder the media is in trouble.

Pacman gets misdemeanor charges dropped. Why you ask? Hold on to your hat.
“It’s cost him a lot more money than what the court would fine him,” Whitesell said of Jones’ yearlong suspension from the NFL, following a series of arrests. “Mr. Jones hopefully has learned something and been punished enough.”
Excuse me? He lost some money because the NFL did what the courts would not do, so he gets a pass? Are you kidding me?
Last year a deal was struck, and broken by “Pacman”.
The judge approved a deal in January 2007 that would have dismissed the charges if Jones stayed out of trouble for six months. But Las Vegas police named Jones as the person who incited a fight inside a strip club on Feb. 19, 2007, that led to a triple shooting that left one man paralyzed.
It doesn’t seem to phase this court though.
This Judge is an idiot.
